The Web 2.0 world is a place where creating content and communication is as easy as type, point, and click. Educators are finding ways to use online applications to facilitate collaboration and to foster a sense of community.

I hope to expand our own WVPT learning community through the use of this blog to share ideas and resources. I invite all educators to become a part of this community by commenting on topics as they are posted.

Find out what we are doing and services that we are providing. If you need training on a particular technology, let us know. We are developing both online and face-to-face training opportunities to meet the needs of the school divisions that we serve. And the good news is– we do this without charge, and training can be on-site, online, or at our location.

    Greetings WVPT staff,

I’m the library media specialist at Cub Run Elementary School.
We are still hoping for a cable connection to be up and running with WVPT programming.
Our new school has 556 students in PreK-5.

Would your staff be able to collaborate with us on the theme of “Lights Camera Action”?
How can we integrate new technology tools most effectively into our best learning practices?

How about a digital storytelling project partnering?
    Any ideas?

We have a couple of projects in the works that will address some of your needs.

I would like to know more about your “Lights Camera Action” project. I am assuming from the title or theme that this is a video production project. Please let me know more about the details.

If you haven’t had a chance to look at some of the workshops we offer, you can view those at the http://www.wvpt4learning.org website. We can deliver those workshops for you onsite or here at the station if that is more convenient. Let us know some of the technology tools you are most interested in.

We would love to partner with you on a digital storytelling project.

Feel free to call me or email me to discuss the details about any of your needs/projects. My email is lholt@wvpt.net and my telephone number is 540.437.2463. I look forward to hearing from you.

    Linda
